Gentleness and sympathy

Hadrat Anas (Radi Allaahu Ta’ala Anhu) narrated, “The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) was very gentle and kind. One day he sent me on some errand. I said, ‘By ALLAAH, I will not go though in my heart I said I will certainly go on the errand on which the Prophet has sent me. Then I set out and came by some children in the market place. Suddenly I felt some one pulling my hair from behind me. As I turned to look, I saw the Prophet laughing. He asked, “Anas! Did you go there where I had sent you”.

I said, ‘Yes, O Prophet of ALLAAH! I will certainly go.’ [Mishkat: Hayatul Muslimin]
