Shedding tears for a dead person is permissible

The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) has enjoined on his ummah the saying of

(To ALLAH we belong and to Him is our return), and to remain reconciled with ALLAH’s will. These directions do not go against shedding of tears and having a sorrowful heart. It was in keeping with this that he inspite of his being ever pleased with the will of ALLAH and full of praise for Him, when his dear son Ibrahim died, he was so much moved that he could not restrain his tears, although his heart was full of submission to the will of ALLAH and tongue was busy in remembering ALLAH.
