Permission for marriage

The Messenger of ALLAH (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) is reported to have said, “A woman previously married (widow/divorcee) shall not be married until she be consulted, nor shall a virgin be married until her consent be asked.” The Companions said, “In what manner is permission of virgin?” He replied, “Her consent is by her silence.” [Zadul Maad]
