Hadrat Muaz (Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anhu) narrated in a long traditions that the Messenger of ALLAH (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, “Avoid acts of disobedience, for on their account ALLAH’s wrath descends.” [Ahmad, Mishkat]
Hadrat Anas bin Malik (Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anhu) narrated that the Messenger of ALLAH (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, “Should I not tell you your ailment and its remedy? Beware, your disease is your acts of disobedience and your remedy is repentance.” [Baihaqi, Al - Targhib]
Hadrat Abdullah bin Masud (Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anhu) narrated that the Messenger of ALLAH (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, “He who repents of a sin is like him who has committed no sin.” [Baihaqi, Sharhas, Sunnah]
Note: So far as haququl ibad (rights of people) are concerned, repentance is to be followed by apologizing to the person concerned. [Hayatul Muslimin]
