Rivalry

Hadrat Aishah (Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anhu) is reported to have told that a man asked permission to come in to the room of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) and he said, The one who will have the worst position in ALLAH’s estimation on the day of resurrection will be the one whom people left alone for fear of his rivalry.” [Bukhari, Muslim]

Hadrat Anas (Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anhu) narrated that the Messenger of ALLAH (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, “Of all the parts the tongue will be punished more severely. Then the tongue will say, ‘O Lord, Thou has not punished any other part so severely as me.” ALLAH will say, “You used to utter such things which spread to the east and the west. I swear by My power that I will punish you yet more severely than the other organs.” [Abu Noaim]
