Expediency

Hadrat Umme Kulsum daughter of Uqbah (Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anha) narrated that she heard ALLAH’s Messenger (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) say, “A person who tries to bring truce between two persons fighting each other will not be counted as a liar (if he says good things from one to the other).” [Bukhari, Muslim]

Note: He mentions effective and good things to the parties in dispute.
