Exaggeration in praise

Hadrat Abu Bakr (Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anhu) narrated that when a man showered fabulous praises on some one in the Prophet’s (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) presence he said, “Woe to you, you have beheaded your brother (saying it three times). One who cannot help expressing praise should say that he considers so and so is such and such provided he really is so, for it is only Allah who knows for certain whether the said person deserves such praise.” [Bukhari, Muslim]
