UNLAWFULNESS OF RISHWAT (BRIBE)

Hadrat Abdullah bin Amr (Radi Allaahu Ta’ala Anhu) narrated that ALLAAH’s Messenger (Sal lallah u Alaihi Wa Sallam) cursed the one who bribes and the one who takes bribes. Abu Dawud and lbn Majah transmitted it. Tirmizi transmitted it on the authority of Abdullah bin Amr and on that of Abu Hurairah (Radi Allaahu Ta’ala Anhu) Ahmad and Baihaq transmitted it on the authority of Sauban (Radi Allaahu Ta’ala Anhu) who added that the Raish is the go between regarding a bribe.
