FASTING ON 15TH OF SHABAN

Hadrat Ali (Radi Allaahu Ta’ala Anhu) narrated that the Prophet said: When the fifteenth night of Shaban comes, say nafil Salaah and fast that day, for as soon as the sun sets that evening  ALLAAH’s illumination and Mercy descend on to the sky and He says, “Is there any servant of mine who begs Me for pardon and forgiveness, so that I decide to forgive him? Is there any servant of Mine who begs Me for sustenance so that I decide to give him sustenance? Is there any afflicted servant of Mine who begs Me for health and well being, so that I provide him comfort. Likewise ALLAAH calls to various needy persons so that they may ask Him to remove their needs and He may grant their position. In the same way ALLAAH’s mercy keeps calling to His servants all the night from sunset to sunrise. [lbn Majah]
